I am only 12 years old and Im not sure if its abuse or not. My own sister hits me! My dad calls me a dumbass and stupid and my mom said I am untrusted in this household. I am stuck as the maid of the house and my mom complains that she has to do the all the work when at times im cleaning for hours. I feel left out of the family and like a slave. I feel just plain unwanted and unloved. I want to run away but is it needed in this situation?

Thanks for writing us here at the National Runaway Switchboard. This all sounds like it is very hard for you, and we are so sorry that you are going though this. It really must be a lot for you to handle. Is there anyone you feel you can talk to about all of this? Does anyone in your life make you feel comforted after your family makes you feel bad? Is there any way that you can talk to a counselor at school perhaps?
We certainly hope there is something that makes you feel better in your times of pain. As far as your question about abuse goes, we cannot say one way or another right now.
