Hey,
Thanks for reaching out to us. It is perfectly normal to be annoyed with our parents. They often mean well, but that does not stop the constant chatter from getting under our skin and really bothering us. Sometimes it can be helpful to voice how it is making us feel while showing we understand what they are trying to tell us.
Whether the tension you are experiencing with your parents just started or has been going on for a while, we would be happy to chat or talk to you! We can better discuss the resources and help that may benefit you through two lines of communication. You can chat online at www.runaway.org or call us at 1(800)786-2929 (RUNAWAY). We are here to listen. Here to help.
Take care,

(If you feel you are in immediate danger for any reason, please call the police or go to your local emergency room.)
Hi there,
Thanks so much for reaching out to us. It sounds like you might be going through some issues with your mom and needing a little more privacy than you’re getting. At your age, it’s super normal to want some time to yourself, and it can be frustrating when you feel like you’re being interrupted all the time.
We would love to hear more about your story and give you more personalized and confidential help, but we’ll do the best we can below. Please feel free to reach out to us directly any time to talk to a real person. The NRS is here 24/7 via online chat or by calling 1-800-RUNAWAY (1-800-786-2929).
If you feel safe, we would encourage you to speak to your mom in a mature and honest way about your feelings and how you need a little more space. That way you can maybe reach a compromise that allows you both to be as comfortable as possible. You may also get a better understanding of where she is coming from with everything.
We also want to stress how important self-care is during this time. Please reach out to your trusted support network for guidance and a listening ear, and practice hobbies that relax you. Maybe this is writing, watching a favorite TV show, or working out. Taking care of your mind and body will help you feel strong enough to maybe have a tough conversation with your mom.
Again, we would love to chat with you to offer some more personalized guidance, but we wish you the best with everything going forward.
Thanks again for reaching out.
Good luck,
NRS
