Hey, I am 17 year old i have been thinking of runaway from my parents because they are very abusive and harms my mental health. I have been living outside for my studies for years and i was also doing part time job but i came at my home for a festival and after that my parents didn't allow me to go back to work and threatened me if i asked to go now the only option left is to runaway. Can i do that in order to make my life and future better. I can not waste my time here anymore. What should i do?

Hey there. Thanks for reaching out to us here at NRS. We know that it can take a lot of courage to reach out for support, and we're glad you took that step.
It sounds like things at home have been pretty tough for you, and we're sorry to hear that. Unfortunately because NRS is US based, we're unfamiliar with the laws and resources in your country, so we don't have much information that we can provide you with at this time. For example, in most states in the US, the age of majority is 18. That means that once you turn 18, you're legally considered an adult, and you can leave home and make decisions for yourself. You can also get a job a bit easier, go to college, find housing, etc. But because we are unfamiliar with how things work in your country, we can't chat some of our traditional options through with you.
That said, you might be able to connect with an organization in your area by visiting www.childhelplineinternational.org. You can click on "Find a Child Helpline" right at the top of the page, and then search for your country from there.
We hope that you're able to find the help that you're looking for.
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
