What should i do now? I am miserable in this house, everyone here is abusive, they have all picked up my mothers traits except for me. I try and distance myself from them all but it never works, my mom rewards us to keep us from telling anybody what happens at this house. This has been happening since i was an infant, she tells us she would hit us when we cried. We have been around her and her toxic partners our whole lives, which i thought was normal untill i disobeyed 1 of moms rules and made a few friends, then i learned that i needed a lot of help. I really need some advice, running away seems like the last option for me.

Hello there –
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to reach out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline on our public forum. Hopefully by giving you support during your crisis, there are others that are reading this thread that can feel comfortable reaching out as well. We are always here to listen and here to help in any way that we can. Sounds like you have been dealing with some really abusive behavior from your mother and her parents all your life. No one deserves that kind of treatment at all. Just so you know that you always have the right to protect yourself that abuse by reaching out to your local child protective service agency or you can even reach out to us to talk about that being an option. If you feel comfortable, you can also reaching out to another trusted adult to let them know what is going on at home in order for them to try to help you. This could be a neighbor, friend, teacher, or school counselor
If you have a specific question that you can't find the answer to on any of these threads or maybe find a place to vent about what you are feeling right now, you can always call us. It’s hard to talk to just anyone one about what has been going on. Since it's a public forum, we can't give you a resource here, but if you connect with us via phone or online chat, we can take a look in our database and hopefully be able to locate a youth agency that can provide you local support. Please reach out via phone or even our online chat for more help.
We hope to hear from you so that we can help you further. Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
