  • is this abuse?

i have done some things in the past that may give my mom some trust issues. But she continuously calls me fat, ugly, and i'm not even allowed to call her mom. She has told me that just looking at my hideous face makes her pissed, and if i ever try to talk to her for more than a few seconds, she tells me shut up and go to my room. she has told me that she will only be happy the day that i leave her house. she's even told me to pack up my stuff and leave. she has hit me before, but nothing too much. my dad on the other hand is about ten times worse. he's beat me with a belt until the belt buckle broke, and shoved my head down the toilet and flushed. my dad was out of this country for a while but he's coming back soon, and i'm terrified. what should i do and is this all abuse in the first place, or is it under corporal punishment?

Thank you for being so brave and courageous for reaching to National Runaway Safeline and sharing with us what’s going on. What you’re experiencing right now is difficult, and not ok under any circumstances for anyone. I’m sorry that your parents are not encouraging and supporting you in the way you need. You are beautiful and worthy, and don’t deserve to be going through this. If you are at risk of any danger or feeling unsafe, we encourage you to reach out to 911 or seek emergency assistance immediately, because being beaten by a hand or a belt, is illegal. You also have the option to report any mistreatment to CPS, Child Help USA 1-800-422-4452 www.childhelp.org which is an organization that helps protect minors from being hard. They can tell you more about how CPS could respond to your situation. Sometimes having a safe space to share your fears and feelings, can bring out more solutions that you’ve never thought of before. Remember you’re not alone in this. We are here to help and support you through this difficult and challenging time.
And remember if you’d like to chat more about this, you can always go to 1800runaway.org and click on the chat button, if you’re not able to call.
