Should I call CPS over mental abuse?

Hi my name is Jadon, I'm 14 and my mother, goes insane over everything, I feel like I can never do anything right. She threatens to hurt me and calls me a useless f*ck. She says if she doesn't do it it's not gonna get done, and I never help her. I help her all the time, but some times I will help her with out asking, or her telling me to, and then she would through a sh*t fit. On Christmas she freaked out for no apparent reason and started rampaging, she screamed at me and told me to get out of her house, she looked at me and cursed me out. I left and I went to the wood shed and I could still here her screaming from inside, it was echoing. I just want to know if calling CPS is a good idea?

You mentioned experiencing emotional abuse which may be reportable against your mom.  Please keep in mind you by no means deserve any type of abuse, emotional or otherwise.  Unfortunately, emotional abuse is often harder to provide evidence for compared to physical abuse which is often what CPS relies on when conducting an abuse investigation.  That said, we can’t be 100% sure what the outcome will be if your local CPS decides to open a case based on what you share.  Sometimes CPS decides to remove minors from the home and other times they offer services such as family counseling or mediation instead.  The only way to know the outcome might be to reach out to them directly and if you’re ready to do that we are here to help you through that process.
