hi ok heres the problem im in the system and live with a foster family and my foster mother does not like my boyfriend because he got put in jail a few years back and because he has money but no "job" yeah i know hes not a saint but hes tryed to get a legit job but noone will hire him and he has a 2 year old daughter that he helps take of so hes doing the best he can i really like this guy and want her to let me be with him how can i get her to understand my side of this to? im 17 and hes 20 so the age things fine.i am respecting her wishes that he does not come to the house but she even gets huffy when i meet him in public places like the libary i need some help.i really like him and dont want to give him up but how can i get her to see that hes a great guy and treats me right? everyone deserves a secound chance please give me some advice

Thanks for sharing a little of your story with us. It sounds like you’re in a tough position between your foster mom and a new boyfriend that she doesn’t like. It’s probably really difficult to have to balance the two. It’s great that you can see the good in your boyfriend. Do you think it’s possible that your foster mom just needs to get to know him? Sometimes it’s a lot easier to judge someone on their past mistakes if you don’t really know them. Can you think of anything that’s within your control to help your foster mom get to know your boyfriend better? You should be proud of yourself for respecting your foster mom by not letting him come in the house. It sounds like this situation is especially difficult because the main problem is that your foster mom doesn’t like your boyfriend. The hardest situations to be in are ones where someone else’s actions and reactions is what needs to change in order to make things better. There’s probably not one way you can handle all this, but it’s great that you’re trying to respect your foster mom’s rules while maintaing a postive relationship with your boyfriend. Hopefully you’ll be able to figure out a way to continue to balance the two in a constructive way. hi thanks for the help i think ive found a way to get her to come around everytime he sees her hell say hi and ask how shes doing at first she was like (why is he talking to me)but now shell respond and i think she starting to like him wish me luck lol now all i have to do is get my lil sis to stop being hatefull to him she calls him names and things and one time she even kicked him how can i get her to stop?
