  • I want to know...

Hi, I'm 16 I'm from Ohio and I don't like where I live at all. My parents don't seem like they care about me and give my other two siblings (19 and 11) more attintion then me. My sister and brother are always starting stuff and fighting and I think my household is just toxic and I wanna move out as soon as I can which if I had a choice it would be right this very second. My house makes me depressed and makes my anxiety rise, but my step mom thinks it's just mind over matter with that kind of stuff. I'm scared to even leave my room, I want to live with my boyfriend and his family and me and him have talked about it and he wants me to get out of the house soon too. I'm working on my drivers license and I've been trying to find a job. Please is there anyway I can move out and live with him or a close friend at least?

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us; we are glad that you did. We are very sorry to hear how difficult and stressful it is at home for you. Not only do your siblings get a lot of attention, they seem to do it by starting stuff and fighting, which leaves you even more stressed and depressed.

And your step mom dismissing how you are feeling due to the atmosphere in your home causing depression and a rise in your anxiety. We would like to talk with you about all of this.

It sounds like you want to leave and live with someone else, which is understandable, but difficult to do without your parent’s consent. You may want to think about negotiating you staying with a friend or family member sometimes so that you can get a break from your toxic home.

The best way for us to help you is by listening to you and helping you figure out your options. We are here for you 24/7 either by calling 1-800-786-2929 or via live chat through www.1800runaway.org

We really hope to hear from you so that we can talk this over. We are confidential and are here 24/7 to listen and help.

    Sincerely,

    NRS
