It sounds like your sister had a rough time at home as well but she survived it by going elsewhere because she was asked to leave. Do you really think your father is not going to take you back home? It is not easy when you are struggling with so much and have no one believe you. We believe you and care for your issues. Have you thought about reaching out to an adult you care about? You were very brave to write to us and we see that you have the immediacy about leaving. Do you have anyone you can think of who you can stay with for some time away from home? Do you feel running away is going to solve the problem in the end? You are right in that if you run away from home and are caught, the police have the option to return you home. It is their discretion for what to do. Do you have a plan of action or a next step? It sounds like the situation has taken its toll and you can benefit from having someone to talk to.

Im only 12 years old and i feel like running away. My older sister is 18 and she has ran away before. I think it will solve all my problems because i wont have to deal with anything anymore, Im afraid to run away because i dont know where ill go. i dont know what ill do for food and im afraid to get stuck on the street. I wanna run away because i feel like no one understands or cares about me and i can't tell my friends because im afraid they might tell my mom. Sometimes i think about cutting myself or hurting myself but i don't wanna end up in the hospital. If i run away im afraid my dad wont let me bak home bcuz thats what happened to my sister. and if he doesnt let me come back home i dont know where i'll go. Plus they might call the police and theyll just drag me right back home. and who knows what will happen. And some of my friends smoke sometimes i think about doing it to because i feel if i get high i wont know whats going on. i sumtimes think about getting drunk to but my parents are strict.
