Ever sense I was 8 I got beat. I was treated differently from my twin sister. I'm older by 2 minutes and I was the smarter one. I get all a. I am treated like crap. My mom thinks I'm good for nothing and I shouldn't have been born. She calls me a mistake. I get beat so bad I can't go to school. I cut. Burn. And hit myself. I question my existence a lot. When people come over she talks about my flaws. When they ask about the wounds she says I fell or something. Then when she talks about my sister it's all good. She did many bad things. She talks about my A s and one B. She said I'm the weak link cause I got a B. My sister gets C and she says "she's sn Angel and does good in school" my mom found my cuts and burns and she asked me why. I told her. She said that it's not true and beat me and I cry myself to sleep .........there is a lot to type I don't know what to do. HELP ME PLZ. I WANT TO DIE.

    Re: Family issues

Hello and thank you for writing to us here at the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). It sounds like there has been a lot building up at home and you’re feeling quite overwhelmed by it all. You mentioned that your mom constantly compares you to your sibling and often puts you down. You shared that she has also beat you. You don’t deserve to be mistreated in any way. It sounds like all of the pressure, stress, and mistreatment has led to negative feelings and self-injury. It often may be difficult to find the support and coping techniques on one’s own. Receiving support from trusted adults, counselors, and even other family members often can be helpful during troubling times.

You stated that you want to die. Your safety and well-being is important. If you are having thoughts of suicide, are at risk of any danger, or feeling unsafe we encourage you to reach out to 911 or seek emergency assistance immediately. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255); http://www.youmatter.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ is also a resource to reach out to in addition to our crisis services.

Often, having a safe space to share how you’re feeling may bring a variety of solutions previously not thought of. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. This may be an isolating and lonely time for you, but you are not alone in this. We want you to know that we are here as support to help you. Your life is important and you matter.

If you would like to talk more in detail please call or chat soon.

    Be safe and take care,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
