When I was 14 I decided I wanted to try living with my dad. Now I'm 16 and I decided I don't like living there but he won't let me leave and the court and guardian ad litem are taking forever to respond. I was wondering if I could just leave and go to my other parents house without my dads permission. I am not happy with dad. I have been asking to leave since august

Reply: can I leave
Hello,
Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Safeline.
While leaving your dads and going to your other parents home is your choice to make.
There might be the possibility you could be returned to him if he has custody of you.
Perhaps you might consider talking it over with your other parent to get some understanding as to what they think about your idea.
We understand that you might be feeling frustrated with how long things seem to be taking with the courts but consider if your actions would help or hinder your chance to move out.
Does that make sense?
