I want to live with my dad
I am a 13 year old girl and I live in the state of Washington. My mom verbally abuses me, and is very controlling. I go see the school counselors to try to come up with a solution to try to change things. Understanding I can’t change her. She is very selfish and will never talk about my problems, only about her and her friends and her problems. She blames me for not letting his work out, when it’s because she actually can’t leave early enough and for her trouble in her relationship because the custody agreement says she can’t move out of our school district, and she wants to move to Michigan with his boyfriend. She will get mad at me for anything I do and always turn the situation to where I am wrong and she is right. It has taken a toll on my mental health and I am lucky enough that I’m not suicidal. My dad is very caring and we used to not have a good relationship, but now we have a much better one. He doesn’t make me do all the house work, understands I am a child and tries to think of my best interest. He also gets me things I need, like a new toothbrush, etc. I am writing from my Dad's house currently and am too scared to go back to my mom's. But they have a custody agreement, and I have a brother who also goes back and forth weeks with me. He and the good memories I have of me and my mom are the only things keeping me staying. Recently me and my mother got into a big argument over my brother forgetting to take the trash out. She got mad at me, not my brother, which is typical. But today I tried to stand up for myself, politely, in text like my counselor suggested I do, and it turned out very badly. Please help me, I don’t want to leave, but I do?Last edited by ccsmod4; 01-30-2020, 03:26 AM.Tags: None
