    Hello,
Thanks for contacting the national Runaway Safeline.

It sounds like you are frustrated by your parents constant monitoring of your whereabouts and activities.
It’s within reason to see how this might be upsetting to someone.
You might even understand to some degree about their concerns.
    Would you agree?

    Moving on.

In order to relieve yourself of some of this frustration it sounds like you might be planning to run away over winter break to hang out with your friends.
Although you are considering such a move you still are not sure it’s something you should do.
It’s good that you are thinking it though because by doing so you have the chance to ask if this action will bring more trust issues with your parents.

Maybe you have some fun time or maybe you spend it worrying about the consequences you might face at home.
It sounds like your parents have trust and safety issues when it comes to you so you might consider thinking about how the decisions you make will affect the situation.
You might get the answer to your question simply by asking yourself would this make things better for me or worse.
    Does that make sense?

Perhaps there is a way to talk with your parents about their trust and safety issues with you.
Communication might help towards working on a compromise that works for everyone.
Sometimes thinking it out, talking it out might result in a way to work it out.

If you would like to speak more about your situation give NRS a call at 1-800-Runaway (786-2929).
We are here to listen and here to help.

We wish you good luck with your situation.

    Take care,
    NRS

i am really fed up with how protective my parents are. I rarely go to my friends party. I only hang out with my friends that is outside of my house 3 times in my life. I am 16. Every time if i wanted to stay after school,
just doing my homework or chatting with friends, my parents would get suspicious and came to campus to look for me. They gave me a lot of stress in general. Especially my dad, he is constantly angry and controlling.
I really just, for once, i want to be out of my house. I am only allowed to go out when i have school most of the time. They are so over-protective that it really drives me mad. I can't even go outside for a jog in the morning
or even go outside of my house to get the mails from the mailbox, because they think i will get kidnap and raped constantly. But i am living in a extremely save area. I have no idea why they are like this.
I just want to plan a runaway with my friends this winter break. I want to visit the campus and truly enjoy my life for a short period of time, without worrying that my parents are constantly watching my back, without worrying
about that they want to check my phone and wanting to know ALL of my activity with others.
What should i do ? will i get in trouble if i runaway ?
