My friend is 17. Her and her sister are told they don't matter than she will get kicked out and they're abused. Their grandparents have tried DCS and it doesn't seem to work out. They're asking me to find out ways they can get out. Please, help, there's nothing we can do... I can't find anything other than running away.

RE: Friend needs out of home, and I can't help her.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to us for help. It sounds like you really care about your friends and like you are doing your best to help. We are here to listen and help however we can. Your friend and her sister do not deserve to be abused or kicked out. We can go over options and help them come up with a plan to deal with their situation and stay safe. At 17, if your friend runs away she could be reported a runaway to the police, who might make her return home. However, there are lots of options and resources out there depending on the details of her situation. You can call us or even give our number to your friend, and we can help figure out her next steps. Thanks for being a great friend by reaching out! We are looking forward to hearing from you soon and wish you the best of luck. Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
