  • I’m 13, I want to leave my parents.

    I cannot take it anymore

My parents shout at me for who I am. They stood and yelled at me and made fun of me for being lgbt. I have nowhere to go. They make me feel like a failure and that I have done something wrong every single day. If I have a issue at school I speak to a teacher and when I come home i get shouted at for it.
Ive been considering suicide or harming myself because I cannot do anything and have nobody to talk to. Someone please reply I cannot take it anymore.

    I cannot take it anymore...

    Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us at the National Runaway Safeline.
You made a great first step to finding the help that you may need. It sounds like you are going through a lot and your parent’s are not being supportive. You deserve to be treated with respect, to experience acceptance and to feel safe. It is not your fault that they choose to react the way that they are.

We want you to know that you are strong for having gone through so much already. It is perfectly okay to deviate from what others or the common population believe to be “normal”. Your bravery and resilience is so admirable. You are so strong for having gone through so much without having the acceptance that you do deserve for just being you. Remember that you are not alone. If you ever want to talk more about what you are experiencing or get additional support we are here 24/7 at 1800-RUNAWAY or our live chat service. The GLBT National Hotline at 1-888-843-4564 is another option to gain great support from those that are familiar with the issues and experiences of those that are also a part of the LGBTQ community. You can access their website link bellow to utilize all the other possibly useful resources they have to offer: http://www.glbthotline.org/

It sounds like you are thinking about harming yourself or ending your life. It takes a lot of strength to acknowledge that you have these feelings. Your life has worth and our top priority is your safety.
We are here to listen and support you in any way that we can, and we can help you find resources that can help you cope with these feelings. You do not have to face this alone, and there is so much help out there for you. If you are thinking about hurting yourself, the National Suicide Hotline could be a good resource for you. You can check them out at www.youmatter.suicidepreventionlifeline.org, or you can call 1-800-273-8255 for help and support any time. You can also call or chat with us 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) www.1800runaway.org if you need to talk.

    Take care and stay strong,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
