  • I'm Tired Of Living With My Alcoholic Mother

I'm sick and tired of living with my alcoholic mother. All she ever does is drink. I mean, yeah she has a job and yes, I have food to eat in the house. But the emotional toll is getting to be to much. I want out. I do not want to move in with my dad because he is a control freak. I have no siblings I can stay with either. What do i do???

Hello, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you are going through a lot and your mom’s drinking is really hard to deal with. Wed are sorry to hear you are going through this. We are always here for you here at the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). One resource that might help you figure out the best way to confront your mom about her drinking or help you find ways to cope with your situation is the Families Anonymous Hotline. This is a hotline for family members of people who are struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and their number 1-800-736-9805. You might also try to Alcohol and Drug Helpline. You also can always call us, we are here to listen and help the best we can.

We strongly encourage you to call of live chat so we can talk about your situation more, help brainstorm options, and we possibly can provide you with local resources such as youth shelters or counseling programs.

    Best wishes,

Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
