If you leave home without permission, your parent could report you as a runaway and the police would be authorized to return you home. If you are reported as a runaway it’s typically just a status offense; however, sometimes people helping runaways are at risk for charges such as harboring a runaway. Hello, I'm 16 and i need to get away from my father. He emotionally abuses me and I have a safe place to go. If I do leave, he can't really call the cops because he has weed in the house and they'll arrest him for it. Do you think its still okay to go to my boyfriend's house? His parents said they will take care of me and they live right next to my school, too. Should I leave?
