  • I'm 15 and I want to run away

I'm a 15 year old trans guy. My parents have been threatening to kick me out for weeks. I have a safe place to go but I don't have any transportation. Are there any services that help run aways get away from home or will I have to find a way to get there myself

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to NRS. It is really responsible of you to make a safety plan and put so much thought into it. It is not okay for your parents to kick you out and to treat you this way, but we are glad you have a safe place to go.

There are not any transportation services specifically for runaways, but there might be some other options. The National Safe Place can be an alternative until you are able to get to a safe place. You can go to or text your location and the word "safe" to 44357. The national safe place can provide safe places to stay until you can connect with your original living arrangement. Additionally, we are here 24/7 to be a support for you and brainstorm options with you for your next steps. You can call or chat with us anytime. Additionally, the Trevor Project is an LGBTQ focused crisis resource that can support you as well. You can call, chat or text with them at 866-488-7386 or go to
