I’ve been living in this house my whole life but it’s starting to get too bad to live in for me now. It’s bad enough that anybody who isn’t used to it probably would have already considered the house a biohazard like 5 years ago. I posted some questions on Reddit and got some good advice, but I figured here I might have a better chance at getting more technical answers. Here are my questions:
1: I’m pretty sure I’d be removed from my house, but due to my age and that I know how to somewhat safely survive there as opposed to a 2 year old I’m not that sure. Our house is insanely bad and will probably be condemned if anybody sees it. We moved all of our furniture upstairs about 4 years ago and I’m the only one who ever goes downstairs to see how bad things are now. There’s a bad water leak downstairs that has to be at least half an inch high and gets worse every time I go down and see it. As a result of that, there’s black mold forming on all the walls down there. There’s also tons of old furniture and clutter piled up down there that makes it so only I can maneuver there whenever somebody needs something from there or if a pet gets down there (We have 5, and the stairway is fenced off). On the upstairs there is a ton of dog urine and feces, so much that the feces is cleaned up every couple weeks with a broom and dustpan. I could go on for hours about how bad the house is but I figured that’s enough. Do you think by reading that that I would be removed?
2: Do they search every square inch of the house and look at every little thing in it even after they see something bad enough to take a kid out of it? I wouldn’t really be the biggest fan of somebody searching through all of my drawers, in my closet, etc. plus I have no idea how they would get to the stuff downstairs.
3: Since the house is so bad, do you think they’d even let me go back in to get any of my stuff?
4: Could my mom be arrested or face anything legally besides me being taken away if they come?
5: I know this depends on the foster parent, but do foster parents generally give teens any internet access, let them listen to the music they want, etc? I have a guitar I’m sure I’d have to leave behind and music is the main thing that helps me cope with living here.
6: Is there any way from keeping my mom from knowing I’m the one who called? For multiple reasons
Those were my main questions, but any other info on what the process is like would be really helpful. I’m safe right now and don’t need anybody to call CPS for me, I will on my own time when I’m ready. Thanks in advance if anybody responds
