Re: Not happy in my house

Thank you so much for reaching out to us. It sounds like you are going through a hard time at home and are dealing with a tough situation. It must be difficult to feel that your mom does not care for you. It takes a lot of courage to seek advice and help; we are glad you did.
While we are not able to provide legal advice, we want you to consider that if you do runaway, in most states your parent or guardian can file a runaway report. It is not illegal, but often considered a status offence. The police may bring you back home to your mom, if she is your legal guardian. In addition, people that you stay with could be charged with harboring a runaway.
Talking with someone you trust may be helpful. Possibly a close friend or family member. Sometimes a counselor at school can provide suggestions, as well. Another idea is to think about activities that you enjoy doing, that would make you feel happy when your mom is not in the house.
Again, we’re really glad that you reached out to us. It takes a lot of strength to ask for help and it is also smart to know your options before you take action. If you would like to talk further about your situation, please do not hesitate to call or chat with us. We’re here to listen, here to help.

Re: Not happy in my house

Hi I am 13 years old and I hate living with my Mom. I cry every night and wish I could get out of this place. My sisters hurt me all the time and i just want to get out of my house. My Mom does not even care about me the only
person she cares about is her boy friend and his kids. She does not care about my sisters or me and I just want to leave. Most night she leaves us home alone and when she is at home she screams and yells and says she wishes she never
had me.Sometimes I think about running away but I know I can't do that. Can someone give me some advise?

Because your 20, it's time to get a job. If your living with your parents, tell them whats wrong, and if your living alone, get get some friends to come over more often.
