ok my parents and i have argued about me moving out when im 18. I live in nebraska and i know alot of people that moved out when they were 18. i really dont see what the big deal is. im not moving out of town and im going to finish school. i just really need to get out and live on my own.

What happens when you speak with your parents about this idea? What kind of reservations do they have about your idea of moving out? Do you already have a plan for where you are going to stay? Do you think there is anyway of compromising with your parents so they feel more comfortable with the idea? It’s understandable that you may be thinking about having more independence and wanting some freedom. Perhaps if your parents knew your plan better they would feel more secure about the idea of having you out of the house.
