Our 17 Daughhter keeps running away

Our 17 yr old is seeing a boy who is always in trouble,
We Grounded our 17 yr old,
after she stayed out without permission at her girlfriends,
then she ran away to boyfriends house,
we got her back found out she sold her new phone,
To by plane ticket but didn't have enough money ,
this boy has real control over her getting her to get money from us,
any anything they need, to buy and smoke
we grounded her again, i took the bedroom door off hinges,
And seemed like things were ok my wife gave her chores to do,
than tonight,
She ran away again,
And she has summer school tomarrow monday shes already missed two days if she misses again shes repeating
11th grade,
Signed stressed out parents...
What can we do ,
does child youth service get involved or police

We aren't legal experts here at NRS, but one option that you have available to you is reaching out to the police and filing a runaway report. Running away is a status offense, meaning that it's not illegal but something that can't be done by minors (like smoking or gambling, etc.). If a report is filed and the police locate her they will most likely bring her home to you without any legal repercussions.
