Hi there,
You mentioned wanting to know how you can leave home before turning 18. The easiest way to leave home is with your mom’s permission. We understand that might be challenging, however, maybe there’s another family member, relative, or a family friend who could help to communicate how you’re feeling to your mom. The second way is through Child Protective Services if safety is a concern. Lastly, you can also look into emancipation options. In most states you need to be at least 16 to be considered and demonstrate that you can support yourself financially and independently. Emancipation often can be a lengthy process and may even cost some money for court fees. We would be happy to look into legal resources if that’s something you are considering.
Please reach out soon so that we may offer support and resources to you. Our number is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929).
Be safe,
NRS

I think I'm finally in the deepest depth of hell.
The title says it all. Except it really doesn't. I live in Florida. I hate it here, and we can't afford it. My mother is trying to run a family of four off minimal wage, constantly screams and cusses at me and my two siblings who I hate, even going as far as to scream ******** you at me and tell me she was gonna "slap my ass". Once again, I live in Florida, with no air conditioning or warm water. Hell, our water isn't even slightly filtered at this point. The water is full of backwash and the tips of our ********ty sinks are covered in this gnarly green waste. My family doesn't hesitate to remind me of how stupid I am and how horrible of a person I am. And just to salt this putrid wound, it wouldn't cost anything to get our ******** fixed. The landlord says he'd fix both for free, but my mom is too lazy to get him over here to do it.
Am I being inconsiderate? Almost definitely. Moronic? 100%. But I am 14 and can not stand this ******** for another god damn second. I have multiple friends, families included, that have invited me to live with them, but only if my family lets me, or I become independent. Any tips? (They clearly didn't let me.)Tags: None
