I am 17. I have been working since I was15. I have roughly 5000 in my savings. I am part of the NHS and have all honors/high honors. I live with my mom, who has become increasingly abusive over the last 4 years. She hits me, calls me names like “retarded”, kicks me out of the house when I start to cry, grabs me, and threatens me. I feel like I’ve hit a breaking point finally. She is very different with other people though, and to seem like a good person she’s putting me back in counseling (which I had asked for starting this year again and she said no previously because our insurance doesn’t cover it) but now since she is angry with me she is taking money from my savings to pay for it. She has started threatening to take my money through other ways too. That combined with the abuse is too much. Do I have a chance at getting emancipated or would the best option be running away?
