  • I'm 15, almost 16 and need to leave home in sc

I live in a homeschooled family of 12 all blood -related but have a horrible life. My dad is a family doctor and my mom doesn't work. The top 4 kids have already left for college. I'm 5th. At home all computers and devices are banned or extreamly limited, I'm not supposed to have this tablet which a bought myself. I'm homeschooled and get isolated a bunch of the time, I can't make any friends cause we're hardly ever let out of the house. Both my parents are very christian and belive in forcing us to read the bible sometimes 3 hours a day. They also belive outer influences of the world are bad and we should not be arround stuff like that. Video games are always banned, movies only pg or lower and only 1 or 2 a week max, as a family. Music has to be glorifing to God so only instrumental or christian types. We hardly ever leave the house or have contact with new people. I've stayed at home for weeks straight without leaving except for church. I'm getting seriously depressed but my parents don't think I really am and my dad's a doctor so he doesn't care. I don't have any options where to go cause I don't know anyone, I am scared, can you help?

    Hi there,
Thank you for writing to us here at National Runaway Safeline (NRS). We understand it takes great courage to reach out, and we appreciate you sharing a little bit about what’s going on. It sounds like you’re quite overwhelmed by things at home right now. It sounds like you’re fearing that the situation may end in suicide if things don’t change. Your safety and well-being is important. If you are at risk of any danger or feeling unsafe, we encourage you to reach out to 911 or seek emergency assistance immediately. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255); www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org is also a great resource to reach out to in addition to our crisis services.
Often, having a safe space to share how you’re feeling may bring a variety of solutions previously not thought of. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. This may be an isolating and lonely time for you, but you are not alone in this. We want you to know that we are here as support to help you through this challenging time.
If you would like to talk more in detail please call or chat soon. Our contact information is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929); www.1800runaway.org (click on the chat button).
We hope to hear from you soon.
    Be safe and stay strong,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
