RE: im tired of being here

    Hello There!
Thank you for reaching out to us at the National Runaway Safeline. It is great that you are trying to find the help that you may need. It take a lot of courage to share your story It seems like you are going through so much right now and you are strong for having done so. We are sorry to hear that she is being emotionally abused. No one deserves that type of treatment. Have you talked to other family members, friends, teachers, school counselor, and another trusted adult about what is going on? Sometimes having a support system and people to talk to can help.

It can be very easy to feel like situations are hopeless, but you do have some options. One thing that she can consider is possibly reporting the emotional abuse. You can call us at 1800-RUNAWAY and we can help navigate you through that process or you can call Child Help USA at 1800-422-4453 to reach your local child protective service agency. It get a little difficult leaving the home without the permission of parents/guardians. We are not legal experts here, but generally speaking a parent can then file a runaway report that would require the police to return you home. Since this could vary, one option can be to call your local police district’s non-emergency number to as hypothetically how this would be implemented or what the outcome of leaving home under 18 would be. If you feel that running away is the best option for you, if you contact us via telephone we can help you come up with a safety.

This information I not mean to discourage you, but hopefully it was of some help. If you feel you are in danger please to not hesitate to contact the authorities and to keep yourself safe by all means.

    Best Wishes,
    NRS
