Re: help please
Hi There,
Thanks for reaching out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). We are here to help you and provide you support during this time.
It sounds like you have a lot going on right now at home with your mom. You do not deserve to be screamed at or threatened by your mother. If you feel that you are being abused you do have a right to file an abuse report. One really great resources is Child Help USA (1-800-422-4453). Child Help can provide you more information about child abuse reporting and that process and link you to your local CPS. If you are not comfortable with doing this, you can also give us a call here and we can support you while you make the report or we can take down the information and file a report on your behalf.
You mentioned that you tried to end your life, hanging yourself and cutting. We are sorry that you are having these feelings and are dealing with a lot of pain from your mother. You are so strong for reaching out. It shows that you really want to get help to best deal with everything that has been going on and that has happened to you. One place that you might consider reaching out, in addition to us here at NRS, is to the National Suicide Hotline (1-800-273-TALK). We know that it may sound a little scary, but they have trained counselors that can talk with you more about situation and really be there for you. If you are not comfortable reaching out via phone, they also have a chat service that is available to you. We have provided the link here, if you are interested in this service. It sounds like you have a supportive family that you can go to during this time and are considering running away. Since this may be something that you are thinking about, here are a few things to consider:
• Do I have a place to stay?
• What about school? Would I continue to get an education?
• Am I going to be gone awhile or coming back in a few days?
• What would I do for money? Shelter? Food? Transportation?
• Who can I depend on if I leave home?
• Do I have a safe, solid plan?
We understand that you are really going through a difficult time right now and we want to help you in the best way possible. We really want to learn more about you and your situation to see how we can best help you. We are here 24/7 and can be reached at 1-800-RUNAWAY(786-2929).
Best,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
