Speaking to a counselor could also be a way to cope with what is happening at home. You can contact SAMHSA to connect you to mental health resources at 1-877-726-4727 or samhsa.gov. You may also want to talk to your school because they should have a counselor for you, but they are mandated reports and would have to report any type of abuse if you mentioned it.

Hey I’m 14 years old and I’ve wanted to run away for 2 years now. My mom is physically and mentally abusive. She neglects me and calls me degrading phrases. About 2-3 weeks ago, on a Sunday, I was in a fight with her. I can’t do anything so I run out of the house. I texted my friend about what happened. Today, I was using the bathroom and doing my business. She gets mad at me for being in the bathroom, and once I get out she pushes me into my little brothers door. My dad says I can’t tell the consuler at school because of CPS. I hope my parents get divorced. Also my little brother thinks I deserve to be abused like this. This isn’t the first time she’s hit me, she’s been doing this since the 3rd grade, I’m 8th grade.
