    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are not a legal organization and do not provide legal advice, but truancy (i.e. unexcused absence from school) laws vary by state. There are free legal organizations out there that you can reach out to for information. The Legal Services Corporation funds some free legal services organizations, and you can find one in your area if you visit www.lsc.gov, click the "Find Legal Aid" link in the top right corner of the homepage, and type your city / state into the search bar.

Whether or not your state's truancy laws apply to you also depends on your age and whether or not you're the age of minority or majority (i.e. an adult). If you're a legal adult in your state, truancy laws would likely not apply to you.

Feel free to call us anytime 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY if you'd like to discuss your questions in greater detail.

    All the best,
    NRS
