  • I hate my step dad

I am a 13 year old girl. I’m in 7th grade. When I was in 5th my mom got pregnant. She was to have twins. She had a miscarriage and I’m honestly glad. My step dad would not be a hoot dad. He’s always mad about something. Always complaining. One night I think I woke up and his ***** was in my hand. I was too afraid to open my eyes Incase he had a gun or Sm. Idk if it was a dream or not tho. My parents r ov not together anymore and my mom & step dad hate my real dad. My step dad says he doesn’t have the right to pull in the drive way to drop me off. My step dad has lied about stuff and blames it on me. I hate him so god damn much. You know it’s bad when you think about killing yourself bc of someone. He thinks he’s always right and has control over everyone. I complain to my mom but she doesn’t do anything. Ugh I hope they split. My mom always just thinks I’m exadurating when I tell her how I feel. But I’m not. I need someone to be there for me. Like my mom, me and her were bffs. But I don’t think we r anymore. So I can’t talk to her. So I talk to my great grandmother and my mom got me in trouble Bc I told her. Idk what to do. Sometimes I wanna die but I don’t think I could bring myself to do it. Help me someone plz. This is my call for help so plz help me. I didn’t feel like typing all the other ******** he does. But it’s bad. He hasn’t hit me. But I think he will someday. What u just read was only the start.

    Hey there,

Thanks so much for contacting us, it takes a lot of courage to reach out and share your story. It must be really hard to live in a home with so much tension between you and your stepdad. It sounds like you and your mom used to be close, it seems frustrating to not be able to have her as a confidant anymore.

You mentioned some things about your stepdad’s behavior while you were asleep that raise concern for your safety and well-being. Absolutely no one deserves to be abused, physically, emotionally or sexually. If you are at risk of any danger or feeling unsafe, we encourage you to reach out to 911 or seek emergency assistance immediately. If any harm or abuse is happening at home, you have the right to report it. If you feel like this is an option you want to explore, you may find this website helpful: We can also help you to file a report if that’s the route you are considering. It may also be a good idea to explore options for staying with another family member or someone you trust as far as transferring custody. Sometimes people in situations like yours find it helpful to reach out to additional resources for support. If this sounds like something that you’d like, you can call the Rape Abuse Incest National Network (RAINN) at 800-656-4673 or check out their website at

If you’d like to go over what’s going on in depth, or if you’d like to explore other options that you may have available to you, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-RUNAWAY. You can also chat us by clicking on the “CHAT” button on top of our homepage. We’re open 24/7 and here to listen and support you in any way we can.

    All the best,
