  • I want to run away

Here's my problem. My mom hates me. My dad hates me. My brother hates me. The only good thing in my life is my boyfriend. I wish I could live with him so I'm not forced into things. I ALWAYS have to go to my brother's soccer games, even IF I'm sick. I'm not given the medical attention I need most of the time being a sixteen hour gymnast, there's a lot of injuries. There's where my next problem comes. I loove gymnastics and I would do ANYTHING to go everyday. That's my only place I'm excepted for who I am and we are all treated equal (unlike at home). If I were to run away, I would be found at gym because I would never miss training for the world. At home, I'm blamed that I broke my brother's toe when a) it was his wrist and b) I was sleeping. Seriously. I am always treated like ********. My whole family is having a great day. I decided I want to sleep in instead of going shopping, I lose everything for that day. I decided I want to go to training in the middle of my brother's soccer tournament and all I get is ********ing attitude. I want to run away I just don't know if I could handle the pressure of having to avoid everyone and the ******** I'm going to get when I do return home. Right now, I'm stuck in my room (yes!) until tomorrow. Well, I have till 2:15 to do whatever I want because my family gets back from my brother's soccer game. I might grab some food and run away so that I'm not caught running away. I might just harm myself so bad that I am stuck in the hospital so that I'm not yelled at as badly because then if it's bad enough, they might just call children's aid. I am also considering figuring out how to put myself up for adoption so I will get a second shot at a good family.

Problems if and when I run away:
    -I can't use my phone
    -I not good at running
-I might kill myself missing my boyfriend and gymnastics
-What happens when I'm murdered out on the streets
-What happens when it's thunder and lighting
    -Where do I hide

    Please help me NOW!

Re: I want to run away

    Hello,
You are very brave in reaching out to us. It is not always easy to seek help. It sounds like you are in a stressful family situation. You have lot on your plate with gymnastics and being required to attend all of your brother’s soccer games. Looks like you want a break from other things and want to focus on your gymnastics and your health. Gymnastics takes a lot out of you and you want to be able to rest when you can without your family being negative about it.
We definitely are concerned about your well-being and if you ever are going through a very difficult time that you feel like hurting yourself there are a few resources you may want to have handy. You can always reach out to us and we will be there for you to support you. You can reach us 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We also have a chat line that you can reach out to if you wanted at 1800RUNAWAY.org. Another resource to have handy is “To Write Love on Her Arms” and they have a website at twloha.com. The National Suicide Hotline is also a great resource. Even though their name mentions suicide, they handle lots of crisis situations beside suicide and they can be reached at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). These are resources that can help you if you are having a difficult time and things become too much to handle.
It sounds like you are thinking about running away but have realized some of the issues you would encounter if you did. That is very proactive and realistic on your part. An option that can help you at home may be to someone how communicate to your parents how you are feeling. That can be in the form of talking, a letter, and an email or even over the phone. We offer a conference call service in which we can have you and your parents on the line to help you speak to your parents about what you are going through. This can also be done in person with someone you are close to, like a family member or your boyfriend. You have thought of going to gymnastics training more often being helpful and that is something that can be talked about with your family if you are comfortable.
You mentioned becoming adopted. So that you are aware, you will need your parents’ permission to change guardianship to someone else. The court system will need to be involved and the process may be long. If you have considerably though about running away and took action you can give us a call to help locate safe places for you to go to. We can locate shelters and other services in your area for your support.
Again, thank you for reaching out to us. It sounds like you have been tough through these stressful situations. We are here for you as well as the other resources mentioned above. If you would like to discuss things in greater detail you can phone in or chat with us. Our phone number is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or chat with us at 1800RUNAWAY.org.
    Take care,
    NRS

My life is unfair, when i was a bay my father dropped me and ever since then my mother has hated me when my sister was born she always hated when she could talk she said she wishes that i was never born. when i was 4 my parents where divorced in new Zealand. when i was 6 my father abused me in front of my mother and she did nun about it. when i was 10 my sister punched me in the face and i was in a coma for six weeks. when i was 12 my father sexually abuse me twice and no one believed me but later on when he tried to rape me twice it was reported but nun was done about it he wasn't put in jail or charged. when i was 14 i was given a death note by a group of people and the police have given up and stop trying, my mum believes its a school joke but no one and i mean NO ONE knows how to spell my name at all. i have stress, depression, and eating and sleeping problems for the past 2 years and for all my birthdays I've invited friends over and no one ever showed and after my birthdays my father would yell and abuse me every time for 15 years. i haven't seen him in 2 years. and that's not all every school i go to without people even knowing me they bully me everyday i have no friends i thought of killing myself i have tried to and was so close i never get along with people or family i stay in the shadows where ever i go i don't talk to people i never want to leave home anymore i have nightmares every time i go to sleep but i haven't even sleep in five weeks and i haven't even eaten in 2 weeks i'm starting year 11 in a couple of weeks and i don't know if i'm going to survive the first day I've haven't had a bf since my bf was killed back in year 8. I've packed my bag for running away from everything. i hate everyone and they hate me. No one has ever understood me, they ever listen to me even when they know i'm right, i don't know what to do anymore i don't know what to think anymore i hate myself complete I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE I HATE MYSELF COMPLETELY
