  • Tired of being hated

I really want to leave but last time I did when my mom And me got into a horrible horrible fight I went to my bf's house and my mother said if I do that again he would press charges to his family when all they were doing was giving me somewhere to stay when she forced me to leave. Lately things have been worse than ever, as soon as she comes how she automatically starts comparing and yelling at me and going nuts over any little thing she can. I have 2 other sibling but I'm the only one to ever get yelled at, it's not like I'm a bad child I get good grades don't do drugs or anything like that so I don't understand why they hate me so much. I just got into with my mother a couple minutes ago and I told my boyfriend everything that happened and he really wants to come pick me up Bc he cares about me and wants to know I'm safe. Ik if he did my mom would loose it and probably call the cops (Bc she wants me to be stuck in the house) and that is not something I want to put him through. I'm just so sick and tired of being treated like crap by the people who are suppose to treat me the best.

    RE: Tired of being Hated

    Hey there,

Thanks for contacting us here at NRS. It definitely sounds like you have a lot going on. Nobody deserves to be treated the way you feel your mother is treating you. It means a lot that you took the initiative to contact us. It’s great that your boyfriend is so supportive of you and that his family is willing to help you in your tough situation.

It sounds like there is a lot going on at home. Have you had the chance to talk to anybody else about what is going on? You had said you get yelled at but not your siblings. Do they know what is happening? If so, is there a chance they could confront your mother about the situation? Having your siblings talk with your mother might help in this case. She might be able to speak more calmly with them. If this does not work have you talked to your mother about talking with a counselor or trusted family/friend? This may help in the sense that you both get to say what you want but have somebody there to make sure things do not get out of hand. If these are things that you would like to talk about more or explore a little further, feel free to give us a call and we are more than willing to do so. We would be happy to provide you with any resources you may want or need, possibly a counseling number if you or your mother do not feel that a family or friend will work.

Thank you again for contacting us, it shows a lot that you took that step. You are very brave for having done that. If there is anything else you would like to discuss or would like some clarification don’t be afraid to contact us at our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our live chat which is open every day from 4:30pm to 11:30pm CST.

Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
