Hey, I am going to be 17 in s few months I have a job and live with my mom is divorced my dad when I was really little and now she is remarried.... I really don't like my mom new husband she is very rude to me. My mom has 4 kids my older brother who now lives with my grandmothers because of my mom husband me and my 2 younger brothers. My mother husband is verbally abusive to me and I honestly can't take it anymore when I am not working I spend most of my time alone in my room, my bed friend isn't allowed to come over to my house anymore because of him. My mom and I used to be very close she was like mh best friend but now even if he is wrong she takes his side and let's him treat me like cramp some of what he says is very wrong to do to a 16 year old girl but like I said she lets him treat me this that. Please if you can get me some kind of answer I would really appreciate it I need to get out of this house ASAP thanks

You don’t deserve to be verbally abused and it’s understandable you wouldn’t be able to take much more. Good for you for finding a job and figuring out a way to spend less time at home. It seems like that would help a little, but at the same time you mentioned you need to get out of your house asap. We aren’t legal experts, but we do have basic information on which states offer emancipation. If we know your city/state, we can look that up if you’re interested. Besides that some areas also offer temporary runaway and homeless youth shelters. http://nationalsafeplace.org/ can be a starting point for accessing a safe place/shelter.
