  • Being 18.

I recently got into a little trouble with the law and i have an upcoming court date. i really want to leave the country to visit some friends and i am 18 years old. if my parents call the cops and say that i ran away or my friends kidnapped me, neither myself or my friends can get in trouble for that can they? i am a legal adult.

    Hello,

Honestly, I can't tell you for sure what will happen but you do have a court date so you will get into depper/more trouble if you skip out on that meeting.

Depending on what the legal age of adulthood is in your state, county or city you might not be able to be listed as a runaway. In most states, the legal age of adulthood is 18 but again, that depends. To find out what it is in your residential area, you can call your local police department at their non-emergency number and ask them.

    Hope that helps,
