I want to runaway.Don't get me wrong I have a nice family but my parents constantly fight and are now getting divorced. I'm also sick of my siblings. They constantly put me down. Ever since there was an incident on Snapchat with boys they have called me a ***** and prostitute. I barely hang out with my friends and I can't take it anymore. I want to leave and have fresh life. I would like to stay in my city though because I would like to keep my friends.

Thank you for reaching out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline. We understand that it takes courage to seek help. We are sorry to hear about your issues with your family. You don;t deserve to be called names. It sounds like you want to runaway, having a plan about where you would go and how you would take care of yourself is important. If you decide to runaway, your parents have the right to file a runaway report. With a runaway report, if the police find you they may return you home. Running away isn't against the law but if you were to stay with a friend, they could get charged with harboring a runaway. The easiest way to leave home is with parental consent. You could try asking your family if they would allow you to stay with another family member or close friend. If you don't feel safe at home you could contact CPS. CPS would conduct an investigation and if they determine that your home isn't safe they would remove you. You may also want to consider looking into emancipation laws for your state. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly via our 24 hour crisis hotline (1-800-786-2929), email, or live chat. Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
