Since you’re a minor (under the age of 1 only your legal guardian can give you permission to move. You mentioned that your mom is in prison, if she is your legal guardian and has custody of you, then she would be the person to give you that permission. Since she is in prison, it’s not likely that your mom still has custody over you. Your aunt may know more about who has custody over you, so it may be a good idea to ask her for help with being able to move in with her. We have a database of resources that include legal aid services, those are lawyers who help youth for free. That may be a good source of information for you or to help you in court. my biological mom is in prison atm and so im living with one of her really good friends who has taken guardianship over me. problem is, i no longer want to live with her anymore and would like to move in with my aunt. my aunt lives like 5 minutes away down a couple of streets in the same city and she has an extra room that i can perhaps live in, im sure she would let me live there for a while as her and her kids love me. i dont know if my mom atm would approve of me moving there but i do have a job, i work 40 hours a week but the problem is its with my mom so staying at that job would make it a bit awkward and she might even fire me but i do have some money and i am more than capable of getting another job. is it possible i can move with my aunt or no?
