I am 19 waiting to leave for basic training and my dad told me to leave as soon as I can which I wanted to do as well but the job got slotted so my dad got mad and told me I wasn't allowed to see my girlfriend anymore and if I had a problem with it to pack my stuff and leave. The problem is he pays for my phone and I don't have enough money to pay or get my own plan. I also have no car and no family here in this state. Also the last time my dad and I had a conflict and told me if I had a problem to get my stuff and leave and I went to do that and he beat me up. My girlfriends dad offered to take me in until I leave but if I try to leave I'm pretty sure my dads gonna beat me up again.

re: I need help
Hey there,
Thank you for being able to reach out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline. It seems like you are going through a pretty tough time at this point in your life and we want you to know that we are here to listen and to help you in the best way that we can. From what you shared, it seems like you have been going through a pretty tough time and we want you to know that we are here to listen and to help you in the best way that we can.
We are not legal experts here, but we are able to speak in general terms. In most states, because you are 19, you are considered an adult. Meaning that because of your age, you would be able to decide where you want to live or what you would want to do. As we mentioned we are not legal experts, if you wanted a more accurate answer, we would encourage you to reach out to your local police department and ask some more general questions.
We hope that we are able to give you some general information about what we do and how we could help. Please remember that our hotline is available 24/7 and could be reached at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We also have a live chat program that is available every day from 4:30 PM until 11:30 PM CST. We wish you the best of luck and hope to get your call or chat soon.
Stay strong,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
