  • I Cant stand it anymore

I am 16 years old and I'm in foster care . I've been with the same family since i was 2 years old.I live with my 14 year old brother and 18 year old sister. Also with my foster parents daughter which is about 43 years old . I need some advice.when i was in eighth grade i started to steal and I'm not the perfect child i have anger problems,ADHD/ADD and depression. I've been thru a lot in my life. Ever since I've become a teen i have gotten worse. But i clash a lot with my foster sister. She is really hard to communicate with and she will never listen to me. When i go to my psychologist for medicine he always gives me more medicine to take. I am tired of everyone bossing me around. i want to live on my own . however i am going to miss my brother and sister if i do leave to another foster house. i will also miss my foster parents that I've had since 2 years old. i don't know what to do. My life is too complicated to tell right now but that's all i got for now. Another thing is that i want to emancipate and live on my own. Thanks for listening .

    I Cant stand it anymore

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Safeline.

It sounds like you are going through a hard time at home now.
Communication is important so when it breaks down it can be very challenging to have your thoughts and or emotions heard and understood. It sounds like you have deep feeling about missing your family members if you were to leave. That being said maybe as a way to figure out some coping steps you might consider talking with a therapist or counselor.

It must be difficult feeling that you are being bossed around by people around you.
What would you like to see changed in this regard and what do you think must happen for change to take place?
It’s not easy sometimes trying to figure out just what you can do to right a situation.
You are welcome to call 1-800-Runaway (786-2929) or visit www.1800Runaway.org (live chat) to talk with us about what is on your mind and how we might help.
