Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to NRS!
We are always here to listen and here to help in any way that we can. It can be very frustrating not knowing what to do or what your next step might be from this point on. It’s brave of you to reach out during your time of need. If you wanted to talk more about your situation, we’re always here.
So once you turn 18, you’d be considered a legal adult and can definitely move in with your friend. If you try moving out before you turn 18 that would be considered running away. We’ve heard in some situations, police won’t take runaway reports on 17 year olds who are close to turning 18. Since we’re not legal experts we always say it’s a good idea to call your local police station to ask them, just in case. We’re glad to hear that your friend’s parents are willing to support you so you can get out of your house. You deserve to be happy and surrounded by people who lift you up, instead of putting you down.
Again, thanks for reaching out! We’re open 24/7 if you need anything else.
Best, NRS
