re: help me
Hi-
Thank you for contacting the National Runaway Safeline. We are sorry to hear you are going through a rough time at home. It can be hard sometimes with siblings and parents. It sounds like you are thinking about important things like food and shelter if you do leave home, which is great. We are happy you reached out to us and we will help you in any way we can.
You mentioned your siblings have been punching you and locking you out. That sounds like a tough situation to have to live with. You also mentioned not liking that your parents smoke around you. Have you tried talking to your parents about what is going on? Sometimes it helps to talk to someone you trust about how you feel. If your parents are not easy to talk to, you can try talking to a friend, family member, or a counselor at your school. You could also call us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We would be more than happy to talk to you about your situation and help you come up with solutions or options you could try.
If you do decide to run away, we just want to make sure you do so as safely as possible. Like you mentioned you were doing, it is helpful to figure out where you will go, how you will get there and how you will survive once you get there. You could also think of a backup plan in case your original plan doesn’t work out.
Please contact us if you get a chance. We wish you the best of luck and hope to hear from you soon.
