RE: I want to runaway, my mom wants to kick me out.
Hi-
Thank you for contacting the National Runaway Safeline. It seems like you are currently having a hard time agreeing with your parents. You seem frustrated that you have decided you want to become a police officer, but your parents want you to do something else. We are very happy you contacted us and we are here to help you in any way we can.
You mentioned an option you are considering is to run away. You did not mention your age, but it seems from your bulletin post that you are under the age of 18. We are not legal experts, but it is important to know that if you are under the age of 18, your parents do have the option of making you come back home. If they decide to file a missing person or runaway report to the police, and the police find you, then they will take you home. We just want to make sure you know what could happen if you did decide to leave home.
If you still want to run away, we want to make sure that you do so as safely as possible. It is important to have a plan set as to where you will go, how you will get there, and how you will survive on your own. It would also help to have a backup plan in case things don’t originally go the way you hoped.
Although we are not legal experts, we can say that if you are under the age of 18, your parents are legally not allowed to kick you out of the home. If you do get kicked out of the house an option would be to call the police and let them know the situation you are in.
Do you have anyone you can talk to about what is going on at home? Have you tried to talk with your parents about how all of this makes you feel? We would love to talk to you and get a better idea of what is going on. We could help you consider different options you may have and provide you with support. If you would like to call us you can reach us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We are a 24/7 confidential hotline. You can also talk to us through online chat at our website www.1800runaway.org, Monday-Sunday from 4:30pm-11:30pm.
We wish you the best of luck and hope to hear from you soon.

I want to runaway, my mom wants to kick me out
Hello, my parents don't want me to be a police officer, but they are. I am thinking of running away, because i see no other option. They want me to do a university in a different town, even if it would be expensive. I would rather spend that money on training me for a police career, but they don't agree.
My mom told me once that if I will not follow the university she will kick me out of my home!Tags: None
