    RE: help

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline. It sounds like there is a lot going on right now, and we are glad that you reached out for help. From what you shared, it seems that you may be overwhelmed with everything between the stress of home life and difficulties at school. Juggling a lot of stress can be very overwhelming, especially at such a young age. Finding things that bring you happiness and reduces stress such as hobbies, interests, or sports may help refocus any negative thoughts you may be having. You mentioned having suicidal thoughts and shared this with your doctor. However, it seems you may not have gotten the support you may have been looking for. We are concerned for your safety and well-being, and we want you to know that you are not alone in all of this. A counselor or therapist may be a helpful resource to help explore ways to manage stress and deal with suicidal thoughts. You may also benefit from reaching out to the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to receive support and help dealing with any suicidal thoughts as well as explore ways to help cope with everything you are going through. National Runaway Safeline is here for you too if you wanted to talk.

You also shared that you are thinking of running away but unsure of what to do as well as where to go. We can help explore ways to ensure your safety if you feel living at home is unsafe for you. There may be shelters that you can go to temporarily. It sounds like maybe having a space where you can talk about what is going on may be helpful for you. We are here, ready to listen and to help.

If you would like to talk more about how you are feeling and how everything has been affecting you, please know that you can reach out to us any time of day by phone as we are 24/7. You can call us at 1-800-786-2929. You may also reach out by using live chat during the hours of 4:30pm-11:30pm Central Standard Time (CST).

    Take care and be safe,

    NRS
