Every time I'm home I get yelled at by both my parents. Told the rudest things by everyone... I'm like invisible to my parents... Fathers day just past Sunday... I was in my room everyone was leaving and they forgot about me my mom said they didn't know I was here😢 and that's cause I was laying down on the couch... I always cry. I get aneixty attacks and my mom says its my boyfriend's fault but its not its hers! She always finds a way to make me feel bad. She ruins plans with all her lies... I don't want to be here anymore... I don't know what to do just leave or just let them know ....

Re: Leaving at 18 with no job
Hi there,
Thank you for contacting us here at the National Runaway Safeline. It sounds like things have been really tough for you at home and we are sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. We’re glad that you reached out.
It sounds like you have been experiencing anxiety attacks which has got to be hard. Have you ever talked to anyone about them besides your mom? It sounds like she is not offering much support through them. If you give us a call here at 1800runaway (786 2929) we could try to find some counseling resources close to you.
It sounds like you have been thinking about leaving, but want to know if you should just let them know how you feel as an alternative. It is good to see that you’re trying to work through all of your options. We’re not here to tell you what to do, our main priority is your safety. With that said, do you have a safe place that you think you’d be able to go to if you left home?
If you decide you would rather talk this out with your family/mom, we could assist you with this, either by brainstorming with you as to how to go about talking this through, or we could do a conference call with us, you and a legal guardian (mom). We can act as a facilitator to mediate the conversation between the two of you, and make sure you are being heard in what you want to communicate.
If you would like to talk further, or would like any of the resources/services mentioned, please do not hesitate to give us a call or chat with us. We’re here to support you.
Good luck and stay safe,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
