for as long as i can remember, my mum has been physically and mentally abusing my sister and i. at one ppoint it got so bad that my sister tried to kill herself. she revealed this to my mum and she showed not on bit of compassion, only anger. me and my mum fight all the time. i feel like I'm drowning 24/7. i get up to breathe and she pushes me back down. i just want out, but if i try to do anything she comes down harder on us.

Hi there,
It sounds like you've been going through a lot at home and aren't sure who to turn to. It takes a lot of courage to reach out, and we're really happy that you did.
No one deserves to be mistreated. If you'd want to make a child abuse report or just want more information or support around reporting, you can reach out to the National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453 or at childhelp.org. They are also there to just listen if you want to talk about what's been going on at home.
Every life is valuable and everyone deserves to be supported. If your sister or you ever feel suicidal, you can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. They are there 24/7 to listen and support, as are we at the National Runaway Safeline at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929).
Please don't hesitate to call and let us know how we can best help.
Good Luck,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
