  • I want to runaway.

It's gonna to the point where I am physically sick of all of this. I've been trying to keep pushing, at least until I got my driver's license, but now it's too much. I don't want to die, I want to leave.

I'm so upset. What can I do?

    My school is unbearable.
    My family is unbearable.
    My friends are unbearable.

I want more, I want to run, but I'm scared.

Please... tell me what to do... I bet you.

It sounds like you’re in a really difficult situation and are unsure of who to turn to. We are here 24/7 and are completely confidential if you want to talk with someone to speak more specific to your situation or walk through options with you.

You mentioned it all just being too much and unbearable. It takes a lot of strength to reach out for help. Your life is valuable and important. You can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or at suicidepreventionlifeline.org if you just want someone to listen or non-judgmental advice.
18 years old is generally the age that an individual may leave home without permission from their parent or legal guardian. We are not legal experts here but speaking generally, if you are under 18 and leave home without permission, your parent/guardian may file a runaway report with the police. Then if you encounter a police officer while reported as a runaway, you will likely be returned home. Another thing to consider is that while running away is not a crime, a legal adult who allows you to stay with them may be putting themselves at risk for being charged with harboring a runaway. One way to find out the laws in your area is to call your local police and ask what their policies are regarding runaway youth.

It can be scary to be in a situation that is unbearable and to not know what do. Know that we are here and there are resources available to you to help you through what you are going through. Don’t hesitate to call, and we wish you luck.

    Best,

    NRS
