  • Verbally/Emotionally Abused LGBT

Hi. I'm a 19 year old, pans and gender fluid individual. I live with my mother because I don't have the ability to make my own money and I have no other place to go. I may be putting myself in danger, but I just need to get out of here... See, my mother is consistently verbally and emotionally abusing me due to my gender identification and how I do my own things. Yes, I know that I could go to the Red Cross shelter, but I want that to be a last resort type of plan. I just need to know where I can go that's not a shelter, street corner/curb/park bench, or house of a friend, as none of mine live by themselves.. I want to be safe...

    Hello,
Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Safeline.

We appreciate you sharing a little bit about what’s going on.
Some situations can be disappointing and even upsetting thus making things uncertain about what to do or where to turn.
You don’t deserve to be abused in any way and we hope you understand that you are not at fault for others behave. You have the right to have a life of your own and to want to feel safe.
