    Hello There,

Thank you for reaching out to The National Runaway Safeline, we are here to help and here to listen. We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with your mom.

We are not legal experts but we do have some information on what could happen. If your mother was to kick you out as a minor that would be considered neglect. She can get in trouble for this by the police or by child protective services. If your mother told you to leave she could still later call the police and have them bring you back home. It is an unfortunate situation but it does happen in some cases.

If you would like to talk more about your situation or have any other questions, please chat with us or give us a call. We are available to help you 24/7 by phone or by chat. We wish you the best of luck!

    re: Leaving home

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out today and posting here. It sounds like you are going through so much at home right now. Your mom sounds like she’s controlling you a lot, but also will not take responsibility for your wellbeing. That’s got to be so frustrating. You sound like someone who has had some experience with reaching out for help before. That’s good experience to have and we’re glad that you reached out to us today. So let’s see how we can help you out.

It sounds like you have some support from that family friend. It’s good to have as much support around you as possible when you’re feeling so overwhelmed. It can also be helpful to get some other support. If you made a CPS report, they might be able to get involved in order to get you and your family some services so that you are safe and supported. You deserve to be supported and to get as much help that is available. Your family friend and CPS and us too are here to support you through this.

If you want to talk more about anything or have any specific questions that you want to talk through. Please call or chat with us so that we can best support you. You can call us 24 hours a day at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or chat with us through our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm central time.

We look forward to your call or chat.

    Good luck to you,

    NRS
