Ok to start off.... Im 15 and live in wyoming. I have a 17 year old boyfriend and he is turning 17 in October. His family is really abusive. His mother has constantly insulted me and my mother over the phone. Plus at his house they barely have enough food to feed him. He also told me that his mom never cooks and they will occasionally eat fast food. He's extremely skinny and is constantly bullied. His father is barely home. His little siblings hate him and dont listen to him. When ever I'm on the phone with him or playing games with him I always hear his mother yelling at someone in the house(mostly him-even though he does nothing wrong). Ok now about me.. I'm going to be moving to Washington in the next week and i thought he could come with me. My family loves him and my mom is willing to take in the extra mouth to feed until hes 18. Would my mom get in trouble for taking him with us? Out of Wyoming and in to Washington? And if we're in Washington can the police take him back in to Wyoming for running away?

Hey,
Thanks for reaching out to us. It seems that your boyfriend is really struggling at home, and you are concerned for his health. It's understandable to want to help him. He is lucky to have you for support. We are not a legal resource so we can't confirm what would happen to your mom or your boyfriend if he runs away to live with you. In general it is possible for him to be sent back, or for your family to be charged with harboring a runaway. If you would like more information, you can contact the local non emergency police in either state ( Washington or Wyoming) to find out what their laws are.
Best of luck,
