I ran away about a year ago with my boyfriend and I think I've made the biggest mistake. I've been feeling really homesick and things between my bf & I haven't been working out. I want to tell my parent(s) that I'm okay, and I just want to ask them if I could come home.. I read on your website that you would help pass on a message to them without exposing my location or anything. Please confirm this because I don't want to be set up or anything I just want to let them know I'm ok.

Re: Home
Hi there,
It sounds like you’re thinking about heading back home and trying to figure out the best way to make that happen. We’re glad that you reached out, because, you’re right, it can be difficult to put all that together to talk with your parents. It’s brave you to want to go back and to make things right. We’re sorry to hear that things aren’t working out with the decision that you made. Sometimes decisions can be good and sometimes they aren’t so good. It’s amazing to see that you’re working through this to try and figure out your next steps.
You’re right about our message service. You would have to call us or chat with us to leave the message though. We hope that’s not an issue, but we can’t take a message through this forum. We would not tell your parents anything that you told us, in fact a different person than who you speak with will deliver the message to help ensure your confidentiality. Now, the message service requires that we get your name and your parent’s phone number and name. So, if you tell us that there is physical abuse at home, we are legally mandated to tell someone about that. If you want to leave a message, but don’t want us to tell anyone about it, don’t tell us about the abuse.
But otherwise, it’s really straightforward. We would talk through with you a little bit about what’s going and then get your name and some contact info for your parents. We would take the message from you. We would deliver the message to your parents. They would then have the opportunity to leave one in return for you and you could call in to get that message.
We hope this is helpful and we look forward to your call or chat. Call us 24 hours a day at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or chat with us through our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm central time.
We look forward to hearing from you,

Hi if I Decide to do that, will the phone number I call with be confidential? Could I call with a *67 number & still receive help? Thanks.

re: home
Hey again,
So here at NRS, we are anonymous and confidential which means that we do not have access to your number or where you are calling from. The only way we get identify information is if you choose to share it with us. Remember, we are here 24/7 and will be more than happy to give you some further information about your situation. We wish you the best of luck in whatever it is you decide to do.
Stay strong,
