  • Family Issues

I live in a big family. I have four sisters and two brothers. Three of my sisters and one of my brothers are always being so evil to me. They tell me to die and constantly fight with me. But it's not normal sibling fights you usually see. It"s serious fists fighting. What can I do before I hurt one of them? I try so hard to avoid the fights, but sometimes I just can't do that. What do I do to get them to see that it can only end badly for one of them?

    RE: Family Issues

    Hello there –

Thank you for getting into contact with us here at the National Runaway Safeline. We are always here to listen and here to help in any way that we can. From what you have told us about your situation, it sounds like you are going through a very difficult time right now. It must be very frustrating to have to feel that way and be constantly under surveillance by your mother at home. No one deserves to be treated like that and you should definitely be able to be comfortable in the house you are living in. It’s great that you’re able to reach out to someone for help, that’s very mature of you to do.

It seems like you have been dealing with this problem for quite a while now and you’re not sure as to where to turn. Sounds like you have shown a lot of restraint as to not trying to hurt your brother’s and sister’s and that’s really great. You sound like you really care about them and not hurting them. You also seem to be handling this a lot on your own, do you talk to your parents about what is going on? Perhaps if you were to share with them about what is going on they can lend a helping hand on to what. Maybe having a huge family meeting where everyone is about to share what is going on and what leads to you guys physically fighting each other. That might be able to help clear the air and reduce some tension. Is that something that you can see yourself doing?
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
